It is required by law that all students receiving Perkins Loans undergo both entrance and exit loan counseling. This counseling provides critical information about your loans and your rights and responsibilities as a student borrower. This counseling can be done on the web at the sites indicated below.

Perkins Entrance Loan Counseling
You are required to complete Perkins entrance loan counseling each academic year that you are awarded a Perkins Loan. This counseling provides critical information about your loans and your rights and responsibilities as a student borrower. Your Perkins loan will not be available for you to use towards your charges until this requirement is met. Additionally, you will also be required to sign a Promissory Note that will be made available to you by the Office of Student Loan Accounting, 110 Petigru.

Perkins Exit Loan Counseling
Near the end of the term you expect to graduate, or if you are withdrawing and you have had a Perkins Loan while at the University of South Carolina, your must complete the requirements for Perkins exit loan counseling.
