The Matthew J. and Arlyn Bruccoli Collection The Thomas Cooper Library

A research archive documenting Fitzgerald's career and literary world

The Matthew J. and Arlyn Bruccoli Collection at the Thomas Cooper Library, University of South Carolina, is the most comprehensive collection of F. Scott Fitzgerald materials. This research archive includes volumes inscribed by or to Fitzgerald, unrevised galley proofs of The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald letters and manuscript drafts, and memorabilia. The catalogue has been compiled from the Bruccoli Collection to document certain aspects of Fitzgerald's working career as a writer. The catalogue accompanies the USC Fitzgerald Centenary Exhibition, which will open on September 24, 1996.

Illustrated with 200 photographs, the volume demonstrates the utility of a private collection built by a scholar-collector and demonstrates the research uses of rare books and manuscripts.
