Director of Residence Life and Judicial Affairs
Shorter College, June 1995 – May 1998
Coordinated all aspects of residence life department that included six residence halls and two apartment buildings with a total capacity of 511. As chief judicial officer for the College, provided training for judicial board, presided at administrative
hearings, developed educational sanctions and monitored their completion, and educated students about the College’s Principles of Conduct. Chaired division’s task force on alcohol and drug education. Served as supervising teacher for first-year success course. Served as a first-year student advisor (Summer 1997 – Spring 1998).


Director of Student Activities and Residence Life
Wesleyan College, July 1993 - December 1994
Coordinated a wide range of student activities and leadership programs and all aspects of residence life department that included four residence halls with a total population of 350. Advised the student judicial board. Served as a member of the Wellness Committee and coordinated a series of topical health fairs. Selected, trained, and supervised graduate intern for summer conference program. Coordinated events and facilities usage during summer months.


Graduate Assistant, Office of Women’s Concerns
Florida State University, August 1991 - May 1993
Served as acting director (August 1991 to April 1992). Advised student programming committee for the Women as Leaders conference. Planned and implemented programs providing leadership opportunities for women. Served as an advocate for women who had been victimized. Advised Stop Rape Week planning committee.

Teach Introduction to Composition and Introduction to Composition and Literature. Participated in the pilot year of the Program for Incorporating New Technologies in English (PINTE) (Spring 2000).

In addition to teaching responsibilities, developed a short story reader for inclusion in custom textbook and teaching strategies document for distribution to other instructors. Designed and conducted assessment on use of short stories in University 101 course.
