Health Communication Senior Editor and RTI International Senior Research Scientist to Present to the Science and Health Communication Research Group
Dr. Brian G. Southwell, Senior Research Scientist in RTI International’s Health Communication Program in Research Triangle Park and Research Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will speak to USC’s Science and Health Communication Research Group Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. in the Coliseum CEO room. Southwell’s presentation, titled “Engagement of Social Networks for Health and Science Communication Projects,” is free and open to SCHRG members and the public.
Southwell is currently Senior Editor for Health Communication, and his research on science and health communication has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health and other sources. His theoretical contributions appear in more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters in publications such as Social Science and Medicine, Communication Theory and Communication Research.
