Health Communication Working Group Recruiting Social Media Interns

The Health Communication Working Group (HCWG) is hiring social media interns for the Winter/Spring 2011 and Fall 2011 semesters. The interns will be responsible for working with the co-chairs and members of the HCWG Communication Subcommittee on a variety of tasks including editing a newsletter, assisting with fundraising efforts and creating promotional material and social media content.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate student from a Communication, Public Health, Health Communication and/or Marketing program. Preferred qualifications include experience with social media, experience in development of online and printed materials, excellent writing and computer skills, and previous coursework on health communication.

This internship requires a commitment of at least 10 hours per week and may be eligible for academic credit. The intern will work in a "telecommuting" capacity and will report to the HCWG while working from his or her current location. The internship is unpaid.

The HCWG is part of the Public Health Education and Health Promotion (PHEHP) Section of the American Public Health Association (APHA). It provides public health students and professionals a forum to network and contribute to cutting-edge activities and programs on health communication and its role in public health theory, research, and practice.
