Mobile Mammography Sign-Up

Have you received your yearly mammogram yet? If not, please read on. Finding it difficult to fit it into your already busy schedule? If so, you’re in luck!

Faculty and Staff Wellness Promotion have teamed up with Lexington Medical Center to bring the Women’s Imaging Center mammography bus to Greene Street. Appointments are available from 9:00am until 3:45pm on Wednesday, November 21, 2007.

Those who are interested must sign up by Friday, November 9, 2007 by calling Faculty and Staff Wellness Promotion at 777-6518.

Patients for mammography screenings must be female, 35 years of age or older, no breast implants and no current breast problems. Patients that have been diagnosed with breast cancer and have been in remission for five or more years since their diagnosis are qualified for a mammography screening. Patients under 35 may get screening but must have a written order from their physicians.

Most insurance companies pay for a mammography screening every year (at least 365 days since prior mammogram). Please check with your insurance company for verification. Patients may also opt to be billed for the screening via cash, check or card. If not covered by insurance, the cost is $88.18.

Ten Thousand Villages

Ten Thousand Villages works with more than 100 artisan groups in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America, which represent many of the same countries of origin as international students at Carolina. They will be selling items from around the world for fair trade. Ten percent of the profits from sales will go to the International Student Scholarship Fund. International student organizations on campus will provide arts, crafts and cultural experiences for entertainment.
