Intellectual Property Office works with business and entrepreneurial
interests to leverage the intellectual property owned by USC
for the benefit of the University, its faculty, the public,
and the state of South Carolina.
As part of the USC Research Foundation, the Intellectual Property
Management Office also works with a variety of technical and
administrative departments inside and outside the University.
Resource specialties include: identifying, protecting, marketing,
licensing, transferring and commercializing the University's
intellectual property.
"USC has world-class researchers, and many important
discoveries are made here with the potential to benefit South
Carolinians and society as a whole. We work to ensure that technology
is transferred to those who can make its benefits widely available,
and spur economic growth for our regional and US economies,"
said Lisa Rooney, director.
