Arthur E. Holman, Jr. Conservation Laboratory Endowment

John E. Swearingen, a USC engineering graduate ('38) and longtime supporter of the University, established this endowment in memory of his dear friend and Carolina classmate, Arthur E. Holman, Jr. who died in December 2000.  Because of Mr. Swearingen's generosity to the University Libraries and at his request, the conservation laboratory will be named the Arthur E. Holman, Jr. Conservation Laboratory.  This was a very meaningful tribute to Mr. Holman who has a family history of supporting the Libraries.  His mother was a charter member of the University South Caroliniana Society.

Funds generated by the Endowment will provide support for the ongoing operation of the conservation laboratory that will include funding graduate assistantships and other student workers, purchase equipment and supplies and provide for other related needs of the laboratory.  For more information, please contact us.
