Thomas Cooper Society Endowment

Thomas Cooper

Through the generosity of the Thomas Cooper Society, the library's friends organization, an endowment has been established for the general support of the Thomas Cooper Library and its mission. Funds come from both the Society's general operating account and from individual donations.

One item of note recently purchased by the Thomas Cooper Society Endowment was Poems by Mr. John Milton, published in London in 1645. This volume, which contains such well-known poems as "L'Allegro," "Il Penseroso," and "Lycidas," was the first collection of poetry published by Milton, arguably the most influential literary figure in mid-seventeenth-century England and author of Paradise Lost (1667) and Paradise Regained (1684).

Additional contributions to the Thomas Cooper Society Endowment are welcome and appreciated. For further information, please contact us.
