Biography

Born and raised in High Point, North Carolina, Iredell Hutton began to collect records of the "big band sound" during his teenage years. During World War II, he was a member of the Air Force and stationed in England. A gunner, Iredell Hutton is the survivor of 52 missions over Germany.

While stationed in England, Iredell Hutton was able to see the Army Air Force Band led by Glenn Miller. Upon his return to the United States, he continued to collect and trade the recordings of the "big band sound". A member of the Syd Lawrence Music Society of England and the Indiana Recording Club, Iredell Hutton has helped to preserve the sound of the 1930s.
