Basic Computer Requirements : 500 MHz processor or higher. 128 Mbytes RAM. Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME, or Windows XP. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher. Cable or DSL internet connection.
Getting Started
Internet and software requirements: To view the video files via the Web you must have a broadband or high speed Internet connection such as DSL, a corporate LAN, or a cable modem.
You must also have the latest version of Windows Media Player software installed on your computer. Windows Media Player is free. Download here for either Windows or Macintosh.
To ensure successful viewing it is also recommended that you make sure your Web browser software is up to date. The latest version of Internet Explorer can be downloaded for Windows or Macintosh.
To view streaming video: Once you have determined that all hardware and software requirements are met, please click on “button “ to view the video. The video files are large and may take some time to begin playing. If you experience delays of more than 10 to 15 minutes, please try again later. Long delays are due to heavy network traffic.
The video will be approximately one quarter the size of your computer screen. Please read “Internet and software requirements” below to make sure you have the necessary software to play the video.
To download a video file: Click on “download” to download the video to your computer. Select “Save” to download the file (you may have to right click and select “select target as”). Some students find that they can download the video even if they have trouble viewing it as described above.
Download
saves the video file to your computer so that you
can view it whenever you like without being connected to the
Internet.
Video files are large (100 + Megabytes) and may take some time to
download. If you experience wait times for more than 30 minutes,
please
try again later.
If you are having problems please make sure you have the latest version of Windows Media Player software installed on your computer. Windows Media Player is free. Download here
If you can’t see the video using the “view” option, try the “download” option.
Extremely long wait times (10 to 15 minutes for viewing or 30 minutes for downloading) are caused by heavy network traffic. Please try again later.
Attention AOL users: If you are having problems and are using AOL, please try this:
1. Start AOL
and connect to the Internet as you normally do.
Once you’ve logged in to AOL, minimize the AOL window.
2. Open either
Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape and go to the <url of video
page> site.
3. Click on
the view or download the video.
