Job and Career Sites

  • America's Job Bank - Online job marketplace where job seekers can post resumes and search for job openings and employers can post job listings, create customized job orders, and search posted resumes.

  • Career Builder - Provides resume advice, tips on mastering an interview, relocation services, salary wizard, and a searchable job database.

  • Career Journal - Provides articles/advice about jobs, careers, salaries, etc. as well as special/statistical reports and a searchable job database.  The site is provided by the Wall Street Journal.

  • Careers in Business - Provides news, resources, and information about various business career areas including jobs, salaries, the direction of the industry, entry requirements, etc.  The site also provides a list of books and other websites that are useful in determining a career in business.

  • Employment Spot - StartSpot Mediaworks, Inc.'s employment network that provides links to job search sites, employment news, career profiles, special job-related lists such as the top highest paying jobs, etc.

  • Hot Jobs - Job search site that allows users to search by job category, company, U.S. location, or international location.  The site also provides career tools such as industry news, relocation information, salary/benefits calculators, interview tips, typing tests, and assistance with writing cover letters and resumes. 

  • Jobs Abroad - Directory for employment opportunities around the world.  The site also provides travel tools and resources including travel guides, currency converters, information about travel insurance, etc.

  • Jobs.net - Career and job site that provides job seekers with resume posting, a job search, and job alert services.  The site also provides links to and information about companies as well as links to country homepages.

  • Monster Board - Online career network resume help, salary data, industry information, career message boards, etc.  Job seekers can post resumes, research companies, and search the job database.

  • Occupational Outlook Handbook - PDF version of the Occupational Outlook Handbook, a career information source that describes work duties, working conditions, the training/education needed, earnings, and expected job prospects for numerous occupations.  The site is provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor.

  • Recruiters Online - Network for job seekers as well as global recruiters, headhunters, and professional staffing firms.  Job seekers can post resumes, search the job database, and search for recruiters by industry for free.

  • Salary.com - Provides human capital management products including a salary wizard that measures how much users are worth to employers, a salary calculator, a benefits calculator, etc. as well as a searchable job database.

  • Salary Expert - Provides compensation data/tools such as salary advice, salary/benefits calculators, and free salary reports for professions in the U.S. and Canada including accountants, accounting clerks, administrative assistant, advertising agent, etc.

  • South Carolina Employment Security Commission - Homepage of the South Carolina Employment Security Commission, which provides information/resources for individuals/businesses about unemployment insurance, the labor market, employee training, job search resources, etc.

  • South Carolina Job Bank -  Online marketplace for South Carolina jobs where job seekers can post resumes and search for job openings and employers can post job listings, create customized job orders, and search posted resumes.  The site is provided by America's Job Bank.

  • South Carolina State Jobs - Job database of the state of South Carolina which is searchable by agency, title, location, salary, job category, county, multiple criteria, keyword, new/changed jobs, and part-time positions only.  The site also provides PDF versions of the S.C. state job application and the S.C. education lottery job application.

  • ThinkJobs - Job board for technical and energy jobs.

  • USC Career Center Shelflist - List by category and by major of the resources in the Career Library at the University of South Carolina.

  • Vault - Career network that provides free resume service, a searchable job database, collection of company-specific message, "insider" information about numerous companies and industries, and research about human relations-related products and services.

  • What Can You Do With A Major In...? - Provides information about what career options and jobs are available in various degrees including accountancy, business management, information systems, economics, operations management, etc.  The site is provided by the Career Services Department at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
