PERMANENT RESERVES MATERIALS:


SELECTION: Includes items such as computer files and audiovisual materials which are in high demand and require special equipment/hardware for their use.

RUSH RESERVE:

Definition: Rush Reserve signifies Rush materials which are given priority treatment because they need to be placed on Reserve for a class being taught during the current semester.

Procedure: Acquisitions staff will put Rush Reserve flags in books which warrant this priority treatment and will place these books on the Rush shelf.

  • Such books will be cataloged promptly, generally the same day that they are placed in Cataloging.
  • The cataloger will place the cataloged book on the shelf labeled Cataloged Rush Reserve Room.
  • At 3:00 each weekday, and LTA II will carry all cataloged Rush Reserve books to Preparations for prompt final processing.
  • Fully processed Rush Reserve materials are carried promptly to Circulation. The flag remains with the book.
