Ruckus - Students

All University of South Carolina students are strongly encouraged to use Ruckus for legal music downloading. This includes on and off-campus students, part-time, graduate and students from other USC campuses. Downloading music is free. Transferring and burning the music to a CD or mp3 device are available at an additional charge.

* Downloading from Ruckus is available for PC-users only. Macintosh-users are strongly encouraged to use other services such as iTunes to download music.

To start your free music downloading experience:

  1. Go to http://www.ruckus.com
  2. Register by using your University E-mail address.
  3. Check your e-mail to find the e-mail indicating the next steps.
  4. Download the Ruckus-provided media player
  5. Start your unlimited downloads!

Ruckus offers “Ruckus-to-go” for students at $20 for the semester. This allows students to transfer and burn an unlimited number of songs to CD’s and mp3 players throughout the semester. Individual song prices range from $.79 - $.99. Most albums average at $9.99.

Students can continue their Ruckus accounts after graduation for an additional monthly fee. Click here for more information.
