High school and college students focus on skills during this five-day intensive chamber music workshop focused on developing musicianship skills – the listening, rhythmic and ensemble skills that go into making chamber music.
Students study repertoire with USC music faculty in small chamber ensembles and together in a chamber orchestra culminating in a performance on the last day.
Each day is divided between chamber music coachings, rehearsals, master classes, chamber orchestra and private lessons. A jazz strings session with faculty Bert Ligon, director of Jazz Studies is also included.
A teacher recommendation is required to participate, and limited scholarships are available.
