Activities for students and student groups to engage and lead arts advocacy rallies
are regular occurrences.
Class
Music Advocacy is required for all freshman music majors.
Library collection
The Spark Library Collection features numerous titles related to advocacy.
Trans-disciplinary learning
The School of Music maintains collaborations with other arts agencies and units on
campus that articulate advocacy messages and leadership-related advocacy events where
students can develop voices for action.
Partnerships
We work closely with key partners to increase meaningful advocacy opportunities for
our students , like “why Music is Important to Me” table tents, displayed during the
South Carolina Arts Advocacy Day luncheon.
Workshops
Our speaker series regularly features presentations related to music advocacy.
