Suzuki classes, the USC String Project and the New Horizons Band are some of the groups
that perform regularly in the community.

Funding opportunities like the Leadership Scholars Program bring community engagement ideas to life.
Library collection
The Spark library collection features numerous titles related to community engagement
and teaching artistry.
Partnerships
Ongoing relationships with organizations ranging from public schools to the Veterans
hospital bring music students into the community.
Workshops
Spark offers regular workshops and visiting artist sessions on developing engaging
community programs.
Student-designed programs
USC School of Music students are active in the community and add vibrancy and musical life and learning to many educational and social service organizations. Students learn to develop meaningful and enriching music programs and play an active role in our community. Our students have designed programs for A.C. Moore Elementary School, EdVenture Children’s Museum, Hand Middle School, Oliver Gospel Mission, Rice Estate, Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, SisterCare and Dorn VA Medical Center.
