What is RSS?
RSS is an acronym for Rich Site Summary, or, more commonly, Really Simple Syndication.
It represents the standard by which content from the Web can be broadly distributed.
How do I subscribe?
1) Select a news/feed reader and set up an account. Here's a list provided by Google.
2) Copy a page URL (i.e., http://www.sc.
edu
/portal2/
rssfeeds/
topstories.xml) by clicking on a category link at left, or by right-clicking (control-clicking for Macs) on an RSS icon. You may subscribe to as many categories as you choose.
3) Paste the URL(s) into your news/feed reader where it asks you to add a feed or subscription.
4) Check your reader regularly to get the latest stories from the University of South Carolina.
