The Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) is located in Rooms 211 and 212
on the second floor of the College of Nursing. The primary function
of the OAA is to facilitate the work of the faculty in the areas of curricular
and other academic matters. The OAA provides broad oversight of existing
programs and works closely with the Office of Student Services, faculty,
and appropriate committees to ensure program quality. The OAA provides
guidance to faculty and appropriate committees in development of new curricula
and academic policies and in the review and revision of existing curricula/academic
policies. The OAA secures grants and other funds to support new and existing
academic programs.
The OAA provides the administrative support to complete the paperwork
needed by committees responsible for curricular and other academic matters
of the College and assumes joint responsibility, with the appropriate committee,
for the tracking of the College curricular/academic proposals throughout
the review/approval process. The OAA retains records of all College
committees, the Faculty Senate, the General Faculty, the Graduate Council,
and other related committees. In addition, the OAA retains course
syllabi for all courses taught in the College.
The OAA also provides support to the PhD students through planning,
coordinating, and facilitating their academic process, offering orientations,
and facilitating their application process, registration, and advisement.
PhD student records including course projections, PhD candidacy exam, and
graduation documents are maintained in the OAA. Additional support
services for PhD students are offered through the Office of Student Services.
