  "Tell Me More"

Want to ask nurses more about their jobs? These are a few questions that some kids have asked nurses. You can ask your questions by e-mailing Gloria Fowler at USC College of Nursing.

Q: Are girls the only ones who are nurses?

A: No! There are a lot of men in nursing. Men can do anything that women can do in nursing. Many men work in emergency rooms, critical care units and in anesthesia (putting people to sleep during surgery). There are many exciting jobs for men in nursing.

Q: Do nurses make a lot of money?

A: Nurses make a very good income. Depending on what type of nursing position you have , you can earn an income from $35,000 to over $100,000 a year.

Q: If I don’t want to work in a hospital where else can I work?

A: Nurses can work in clinics, in the home, in offices, schools, and in businesses. Nurses can also work for companies that sell medicines, become lawyers, teachers, and work with insurance companies. There are many ways to use your nursing education to find just the right job for you.
