The USC
College of Nursing and Alumni Association in collaboration
with Alpha Xi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, Inc. established the
outstanding USC Nurse Alumnus Award
in 1988
to recognize excellence in our graduates. The award consists of recognition and
presentation of a plaque to the recipient. The announcement of the outstanding
alumni is made each year at the Viana McCown Lectureship.
Criteria for nomination:
A graduate of the University of South Carolina College of
Nursing from one of its degree programs, including ADN,
BSN, MN, MSN, NS, PhD, ND and DNP graduates.
Nominees should demonstrate significant contributions to the
field of nursing.
Nominees should demonstrate significant contributions to the
improvement of society through volunteer efforts, etc.
The nominee should demonstrate a high standard of personal
integrity and character.
