College of Nursing

Background

Ms. Fowler received a Masters in Nursing from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University in Greenville NC.  She was a 2008 Amy V. Cockcroft Nursing Leadership Development Fellow, a SC SNA Outstanding Advisor in 2008, a USC Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award winner in 2007, and a South Carolina Palmetto Gold winner in 2006.

Teaching

Ms. Fowler, a Clinical Assistant Professor, teaches Nursing Leadership and Management, Medical Surgical Nursing, and was a prior ACLS, PALS, CPR regional faculty member.

Professional Service

Ms. Fowler has served as an Alpha Xi, Sigma Theta Tau Counselor and a USC Student Nurses Association Advisor.  She is a member of the following organizations:

National Student Nurses Association

Professional Practice

Ms. Fowler has been a USC Faculty member for the past 7 years.  She is a part-time Emergency Room Staffer at Lexington Medical Center.  Previously, she has served as Director of Nursing at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Winnsboro, SC, Nurse Manager in the  Neuro-intensive Care Unit at Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk Va, and Assistant Nurse Manager in the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC.
