Simulated Hospital Rooms and Examination Rooms
The
new Client Simulated Lab (CSL) utilizes a major area of the first floor.
This facility features an open section to allow instructors to interact
with many students at once while still providing individual rooms to simulate
the hospital environment.
The new lab hosts a variety of new equipment such as beds, exam tables,
and manikins.
New bed panels are scheduled to be installed above the beds
to simulate suction techniques and oxygen use.
The latest audiovisual equipment is also available for use in this room.
The combination of these items provides for an up-to-date teaching
environment. A
Geriatric Room, donated by National Health Care, has been developed. A
Pediatric Room has also been set up.
A
mural in the CSL was dedicated in March, 2003. The scenes depict teaching and
learning activities in the CSL as well as in clinical settings. They reflect the
theme, Excellence in Nursing is Timeless.
