Two College of Nursing Professors receive tenure
Congratulations to Dr. Swann Adams and to Dr. Laura Hein, who have both received tenure
as well as promotion to Associate Professor. The college celebrates their achievements
and contributions to the CON.

Dr. Swann Adams
Dr. Adams holds dual appointments in the College of Nursing and the Arnold School
of Public Health. She received her BS in Biology in 1994 from Furman University in
Greenville, SC, her Master’s in 1996 in Genetic and Molecular Biology from the University
of Tennessee, Knoxville, School of Biomedical Sciences, and her PhD in 2003 from
the University of South Carolina.

Dr. Laura Hein
Dr. Hein completed a Post-doctoral Fellowship in Health Disparities in Underserved
Populations, at the University of Illinois, Chicago, College of Nursing. She received
her PhD and her MSN-FNP from Vanderbilt University. Her BA in psychology was completed
at The University of Akron.
