Presidential Candidate

The 28th president of the University of South Carolina will take office Aug. 1, 2008,
as Andrew A. Sorensen retires. Sorensen will continue his service to the University
in the health sciences fields.

The University of South Carolina Presidential Candidate Search Committee is actively pursuing its charge to recommend four persons to the Board of Trustees for their consideration by the summer of 2008. The President is the chief executive officer of the Columbia campus and oversees the administration of seven additional campuses across the state as well.
