The Presidential Candidate Search Committee of the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees met on Thursday, January 10, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. in the 1600 Hampton Street Board Room.

 

Members present were: Mr. Miles Loadholt, Chairman; Dr. Robert G. Best; Mr. William L. Bethea, Jr.; Mr. Samuel R. Foster II; Mr. William W. Jones, Jr.; Mr. Toney J. Lister; Dr. Valdis O. Lumans; Mr. Nicholas J. Payne; Mr. C.B. Smith; Mr. John C. von Lehe, Jr.; and Mr. Mack I. Whittle, Jr.

Others present were: Mr. Herbert C. Adams, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Secretary Thomas L. Stepp; General Counsel Walter (Terry) H. Parham; Vice President for Human Resources Jane M. Jameson; Director of the Office of University Communications, Division of University Advancement, Russ McKinney, Jr.; and a member of the media.

 

Chairman Loadholt called the meeting to order and stated that notice of the meeting had been posted. The agenda was distributed at each member's place and a quorum was present to conduct business. He invited Committee members to introduce themselves. Mr. McKinney introduced the member of the media who was in attendance.
