Minutes for Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, 1:30 p.m.

 

The Presidential Candidate Search Committee Subcommittee of the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. in the Executive Office of the 1600 Hampton Street Board Room.


Members present were: Mr. John C.B. Smith, Jr., Chairman; Mr. Samuel R. Foster II; and Mr. Toney J. Lister.


Others present were: Mr. Herbert C. Adams; Mr. Thomas L. Stepp, Secretary; Mrs. Jane M. Jameson, Vice President for Human Resources; and Mr. Walter (Terry) H. Parham.


Chairman Smith called the meeting to order and stated that notice of the meeting had been posted. The materials had been circulated to members of the Committee and a quorum was present to conduct business. He also indicated that no members of the press were in attendance.


Chairman Smith stated that there were contractual matters which were appropriate for discussion in Executive Session. Mr. Lister moved to enter Executive Session, and Mr. Foster seconded the motion. The vote was taken, and the motion carried.


The following persons were invited to remain: Mr. Adams, Secretary Stepp, Mrs. Jameson, Mr. Parham and Ms. Tweedy.
