The Presidential Candidate Search Committee of the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees met on Monday, February 25, 2008, at 1:35 p.m. in the 1600 Hampton Street Board Room.

 

Members present were: Mr. Miles Loadholt, Chairman; Dr. Robert G. Best; Mr. William L. Bethea, Jr.; Mr. Samuel R. Foster II; Dr. Dianne Johnson; Mr. William W. Jones, Jr.; Mr. Toney J. Lister; Dr. Valdis O. Lumans; Mr. John C.B. Smith, Jr.; Mr. John C. von Lehe, Jr.; Mr. Mack I. Whittle, Jr.; and Dr. Marlene A. Wilson.

 

Others present were: Mr. Herbert C. Adams, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Secretary Thomas L. Stepp; General Counsel Walter (Terry) H. Parham; Vice President for Human Resources Jane M. Jameson; Director of University Publications, Division of University Advancement, Laurence W. Pearce; Web Communications Director, University Publications, Geoffrey LoCicero; and members of the media.

 

Chairman Loadholt called the meeting to order and stated that notice of the meeting had been posted. The agenda was distributed at each member's place and a quorum was present to conduct business. He invited Committee members to introduce themselves. Secretary Stepp introduced members of the media who were in attendance.
