Presidential Candidate Search Committee Meetings

Minutes for Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, 1:35 p.m.

 

VI. Report on Board Input: Chairman Loadholt called on Secretary Stepp, who distributed a document recently mailed to the Board asking them to rank on a scale of 1-5 their perception of the importance of various experiences and attributes of the next president. When all of the questionnaires have been returned, a mathematical average of the responses will be determined and the qualities will be ranked accordingly. Essentially, these listed concepts are parallel to the document all Board members complete annually for the required state evaluation of the President of the University of South Carolina. A final report summarizing the ranking of these attributes will be presented to the Committee.

 

Chairman Loadholt stated that there were personnel matters with respect to candidates to date for the Presidency which were appropriate for discussion in Executive Session. Mr. Foster moved to enter Executive Session. Mr. Lister seconded the motion. The vote was taken, and the motion carried.

 

The following persons were invited to remain: Secretary Stepp, Mr. Parham, Mrs. Jameson and Ms. Tweedy.

 

At the conclusion of the Executive Session, Chairman Loadholt declared the meeting adjourned at 2:30 p.m.
