II. Schedule for Future Meetings: Chairman Loadholt called on Secretary Stepp, who noted that previous discussions had been held regarding the possibility of establishing a meeting schedule. Research from the previous search committee process indicated that the group had met on 14 different occasions without candidates and another 14 times in Columbia with candidates. He suggested scheduling the next meeting in approximately one month, another one in two months and then determine an appropriate schedule based on the current status of the search process; suggested dates for the next two meetings will be circulated in the near future.
Dr. Funk indicated that he will provide an update of the progress of the search to date at the next meeting; share the names of those who have either come forward or who have been surfaced; perhaps develop strategies with the committee for those candidates who have been reluctant; and discuss preparations for the next meeting when the committee will begin to distill the pool.
Secretary Stepp advised that he and Dr. Funk have started earlier today to discuss the details of merging his files which have been generated from the Web presence and the advertising with Dr. Funk's files so that the information will be coordinated into one system.
