Presidential Candidate Search Committee Meetings

Minutes for Tuesday, April 1, 2008, 5:05 p.m.

 

III. Discussion of Experiences and Attributes of the Next President: Chairman Loadholt called on Secretary Stepp, who circulated two documents; at a later date he will distribute a report from Dr. Best summarizing faculty input regarding presidential traits. The first document was the result of a Board survey of typical characteristics derived principally from a state measurement tool which they must complete annually to evaluate the president; a rank mass score was compiled of the relative importance given to each category. The second document, a summary of questions that the committee should be prepared to answer when interviewing potential candidates (topics in which candidates would most likely be interested), was drafted by Mrs. Jameson. Secretary Stepp anticipated further discussion of these two informational documents at an appropriate time in the future.

 

Chairman Loadholt stated that there were personnel matters with respect to candidates which were appropriate for discussion in Executive Session. Mr. Bethea moved to enter Executive Session. Mr. Foster seconded the motion. The vote was taken, and the motion carried.

 

The following persons were invited to remain: Secretary Stepp, Mrs. Jameson, Mr. Parham and Ms. Tweedy.

 

At the conclusion of the Executive Session, Chairman Loadholt declared the meeting adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
