The president of the University of South Carolina oversees the Columbia campus and its 14 degree-granting colleges and schools, as well as three senior campuses and four regional campuses statewide.
The University of South Carolina, the state's flagship institution, includes the main campus in Columbia, senior campuses USC Aiken, USC Beaufort, and USC Upstate (Spartanburg), and regional campuses Lancaster, Sumter, Salkehatchie (Allendale County), and Union.
The Columbia campus has 14 degree-granting colleges and schools and offers programs of study leading to baccalaureate, master's, professional, and doctoral degrees. The three senior campuses offer primarily baccalaureate programs and selected master's degrees. Regional campuses offer primarily associate degree programs, as well as courses toward baccalaureate degrees.
