Overview
The Classroom Enhancement and Scheduling Committee (CESC) monitors, reviews, and guides decision-making with respect to classrooms (enhancements, maintenance, safety, security, capacity) and any implemented class schedule changes (class times, passing times).
CESC makes recommendations for classroom enhancements funded through the Classroom Enhancement Project to the University’s Capital Planning Committee, which then decides whether to follow the recommendation.
CESC was created following a recommendation made in the final report issued by the Provost’s Ad Hoc Committee on University Classroom Space and Scheduling.

Instructions for making a classroom enhancement request or reporting a classroom problem are provided below. If you wish to request additional space, please visit the Space Needs and Planning website.
Classroom Enhancement Recommendations
Each year the Classroom Enhancement and Scheduling Committee (CESC) recommends to the University’s Capital Planning Committee a list of classrooms for renovation and/or audiovisual equipment upgrades. The rooms are selected based on size, usage, age of furnishings and finishes, and feedback from faculty and academic departments.
If you would like to suggest a classroom for enhancement, please contact Nancy Hart (
nhart@mailbox.sc.edu, 777-2897) to submit your recommendation to CESC.
