UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA

Information for specific audiences:

Main Navigation:

Because of federal efforts to monitor the activities of for-profit higher education institutions, individual states have tightened their regulation of all out-of-state higher educational institutions.  As a result, the four-year campuses of the University of South Carolina must separately work with all US states and territories to 1) define what constitutes USC physical presence in that state or territory, and 2) determine what, if anything, the USC campus must do in order to offer classes and academic programs to students who reside in that state.  In addition, many states have regulations pertaining to traditional face-to-face classes offered by USC campuses which place internship, clinical, and other practical learning students within their borders.

The University of South Carolina Columbia is in the process of securing the requisite exemptions or authorizations in states where we may have or seek to have a physical presence, encompassing either distributed learning students, practical learning students, or both.  Please click on a state name below to view the status of the USC Columbia application.

NOTE:  The status described refers ONLY to USC Columbia programs.
