Begun by the South Carolina Honors College in 2001, Discovery Day has been the university-wide event where undergraduates, in all disciplines, present their research and scholarship activities. Originally as a poster session only, beginning in 2006, students also have the opportunity to make oral and creative presentations as well as present their work through visual arts displays.

"Participating in Discovery Day is a good way to get on track for conducting research in graduate school."
Zach Morris, Sophomore, Psychology

"This is my thing: independent study. This is a fantastic event for undergrads and it is rare with universities to allow students to showcase their research like this."
Melanie Palomares, Research
Assistant, Psychology

"Discovery Day is for all types of beyond-the-classroom experiences."
Julie Morris, Director, Office of
Undergraduate Research
