SCATP Equipment Loan Program
SCATP offers a short-term equipment loan program that is available to anyone in the state. The equipment loan program gives people a chance to try out different assistive technology options before making the decision to purchase, or in some cases, the decision not to purchase. We loan equipment, including communication devices, adapted computer hardware, environmental control devices, aids for daily living, sensory aids, switches and adapted toys for a two-week to one month period. We do not loan software, but you can make an appointment to see and try out software at the demonstration center.
Loan requests are processed after receipt of a signed loan agreement. This agreement can be faxed or mailed to SCATP. When the loan request is received, we determine if the device is available for loan and if not, we place the borrower on a waiting list. If necessary, we consult with the borrower about other device options (e.g., if the device is already out on loan or if another device might be appropriate). There is no charge for initial shipping. The borrower is responsible for return shipping and postal insurance. The borrower may pick up and return the device in person to avoid shipping cost.
