Session One - 9:00-12:00: In this workshop we will demonstrate various resources that can help students who struggle with decoding, comprehension, and organization. The focus of this workshop will be on literacy resources, text-to-speech, word prediction, and organizational software that can address all students' learning styles. Educators that can benefit from this workshop will be resource teachers, literacy specialists, AT specialists, general education teachers, and special education teachers.
Software that will be demonstrated: SOLO (Read:Outloud, Co:Writer, Write:Outloud, Draft:Builder), Snap&Read and Start-to-Finish Online.
Session Two - 1:00-3:00: In this workshop, we will demonstrate various resources that can help students with moderate disabilities, including non-readers. The focus of this workshop will be on literacy and writing resources that can help students to develop decoding, comprehension, and writing skills. Educators that can benefit from this session will be teachers of students with intellectual disabilities, speech language pathologists, therapists, AT specialists, and special education teachers.
Software that will be demonstrated: the Edmark Reading program, ELSB, MeVille to WeVille with Literacy Starters, and First Author.
*Note: You are invited to attend both of these sessions - especially if you work with both populations of students, are working as an administrator, speech language pathologist, or a literacy curriculum specialist.
Cost: Free, but pre-registration is required.
