The Office of Student Engagement (OSE) in the Division of Student Affairs extends an invitation to full-time USC faculty in all disciplines on the Columbia campus to submit proposals to implement the integration of service-learning strategies into undergraduate curricula with a goal of achieving discipline specific outcomes.

This grant program addresses faculty interested in implementing service-learning strategies into a Fall 2009 disciplinary course.  The proposed service-learning enhancement should directly impact discipline-specific outcomes for the course.  The OSE will award service-learning grants of $3500 to be used as a research/travel stipend to each faculty member who is selected.  Faculty who are new to service-learning or who are developing a new course are encouraged to apply by the deadline of November 14th, 2008.

Interested faculty are encouraged to review the request for proposal.  For additional information about this grant opportunity, please contact Jimmie Gahagan at jsgahag1@mailbox.sc.edu
