SLIS 749 - Health Sciences Information Resources

Class Session: Thursday, August 24, 2017 - Friday, December 08, 2017

Credit: 3 semester hours of graduate credit

Note: Please register for this course by August 17, 2017. Sections for this course: J50 SC (students living in SC); J91 Other States Cohort (students living in a state other than SC); and J92 Other Countries Cohort (students living outside the US). J91 and J92 students pay the cohort tuition.


Course Description

Characteristics and use of print and computer-based materials in the health sciences and for general reference librarians.


General Information

Course will be delivered primarily via Blackboard and live online sessions via Adobe Connect. It will also include presentations via Adobe Presenter and Camtasia and other online materials. High-speed internet access required.


Online Session Information

There will be a mandatory live online sessions via Adobe Connect on Tuesdays, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. ET. Students will be required to participate in mandatory live online sessions via Adobe Connect on Tuesdays, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m ET. Adobe Connect URL will be posted in Blackboard by the instructor prior to the first session. High-speed Internet access is required for Adobe Connect.


Course Delivery Type

A Web course is taught using one or more web delivery platforms such as Blackboard, Streaming Video, Adobe Connect etc. Students must have access to a high-speed Internet connection. More information will be provided by the instructor in the course syllabus.
