SLIS 746 - Humanities and Arts Information Services

Class Session: Thursday, August 24, 2017 - Friday, December 08, 2017

Credit: 3 semester hours of graduate credit

Prerequisites: SLIS 703

Note: Please register for this course by August 17, 2017. Sections for this course: J50 SC (students living in SC); J91 Other States Cohort (students living in a state other than SC); J92 Other Countries Cohort (students living outside the US). Students pay cohort tuition rate.


Course Description

A survey and evaluation of the nature, history, and bibliography of the literature of the humanities and arts. Emphasizes the distinctive features of materials, research, communication, and information-seeking patterns.


Online Session Information

There will be an optional online sessions on Wednesdays, August 30, September 6, September 27, October 25, November 8, 6:00-7:00 ET.


Course Delivery Type

A Web course is taught using one or more web delivery platforms such as Blackboard, Streaming Video, Adobe Connect etc. Students must have access to a high-speed Internet connection. More information will be provided by the instructor in the course syllabus.

(100% asynchronous - if course has any online or face-to-face meetings, live attendance will not be required. For any such sessions, there will be alternative ways to view or obtain the material covered).
