SLIS 720 - School Library Program Development

Class Session: Tuesday, January 16, 2018 - Monday, April 30, 2018

Credit: 3 semester hours of graduate credit

Prerequisites: Special permission required.

Note: Students will be enrolled by SLIS Student Services Office. Students must contact SLIS (800-304-3153), for permission to register for this course ( SLIS 720). Please register by January 9, 2018. Sections for this course: J50 SC (students living in SC); J91 Other States Cohort (students living in a state other than SC); J92 Other Countries Cohort (students living outside the US). J91 and J92 students pay the cohort tuition.


Course Description

Roles, functions, and organization of school library media programs. Systematic planning and evaluation, leadership, advocacy, and integration of program into the curriculum.


General Information

Course will be delivered primarily via Blackboard and Camtasia presentations. Other web applications may be used. High-speed internet access is required.


Course Delivery Type

A Web course is taught using one or more web delivery platforms such as Blackboard, Streaming Video, Adobe Connect etc. Students must have access to a high-speed Internet connection. More information will be provided by the instructor in the course syllabus.

(100% asynchronous - if course has any online or face-to-face meetings, live attendance will not be required. For any such sessions, there will be alternative ways to view or obtain the material covered).
