SLIS 724 - Special Libraries

Class Session: Tuesday, January 16, 2018 - Monday, April 30, 2018

Credit: 3 semester hours of graduate credit

Note: Please register by January 9, 2018. Sections for this course: J50 SC (students living in SC); J91 Other States Cohort (students living in a state other than SC); J92 Other Countries Cohort (students living outside the US). J91 and J92 students pay the cohort tuition.


Course Description

An overview of industrial, business, governmental, and professional libraries and related information organizations. Study of their organizational characteristics, governance, services, distinctive features. Major part of course is simulation of information management problems in these organizations.


Course Delivery Type

A Web course is taught using one or more web delivery platforms such as Blackboard, Streaming Video, Adobe Connect etc. Students must have access to a high-speed Internet connection. More information will be provided by the instructor in the course syllabus.

(100% asynchronous - if course has any online or face-to-face meetings, live attendance will not be required. For any such sessions, there will be alternative ways to view or obtain the material covered).
