Course Description

A critical examination of the principles, trends, and issues of modern information systems design and use.


General Information

Enhanced Course Title and Description 778 Seminar - Evaluation, acquisition, and operations of Information Systems A critical examination of the principles, trends, and issues of modern information systems design and use. Specific attention will be paid to the assessment, evaluation, and acquisition, purchase, and management processes for enterprise systems within knowledge management organizations including but not limited to Libraries, Museums, and Archives. Based on course participants, appropriate industry experts will share their perspectives and students will do critical analysis of operational, evaluation, and acquisition processes and technical systems specific to their domains of interest.


Course Delivery Type

A Web course is taught using one or more web delivery platforms such as Blackboard, Streaming Video, Adobe Connect etc. Students must have access to a high-speed Internet connection. More information will be provided by the instructor in the course syllabus.

(100% asynchronous - if course has any online or face-to-face meetings, live attendance will not be required. For any such sessions, there will be alternative ways to view or obtain the material covered).
