Lang Biogeochemistry Lab

Research in the Lang lab is focused on what happens when water passes through the rocky subsurface of the ocean and continents. These environments can host unique microbial communities and influence global bioegeochemical cycles. Our principal approach is to characterize the concentrations and isotopic compositions of organic compounds. Developing new analytical techniques is, and will continue to be, central to moving this research forward.
