Study

Students in our department learn sound analytical skills through the scientific method while preparing for excellent job prospects after graduation. Here, you'll gain a better understanding of yourself and others through your coursework and research experiences. Our programs offer room for specialization and development so you can explore your specific interests and grow as an academic. 

Undergraduate Study

Our Bachelor of Arts degree provides training in the theories and practices of psychology. Participate in a robust undergraduate research program by signing up for independent study or community practicum to learn outside the classroom while earning course credit. 

 

Graduate Study

Graduate students can choose from over four dozen outstanding faculty mentors to help conduct independent breakthrough research. Our department offers a single Ph.D. program with concentrations in Cognitive & Neural Sciences, Quantitative Psychology, and APA accredited concentrations in Clinical-Community Psychology and School Psychology.

 

Careers

The skills you learn here will apply to a wide range of careers. Critical thinking, analytical reasoning, communication, interpersonal skills, leadership and organization are all top skills that employers value. 

 

Minor

A general psychology minor will allow you to gain further analytical and communication skills to support your major learning.  

The neuroscience minor offers a strong background of how the nervous system works and is ideal for students interested in a career in neuroscience, biomedical sciences, animal behavior, psychology or medicine.
