Current Season

The USC Dance Company will present a delightful repertory of classic, contemporary and creative works in 2017-18, including the 13th Annual Ballet Stars of New York Gala Performance.

USC Dance Company Fall Concert

November 16-17, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.
Koger Center for the Arts

The USC Dance Company will present a mixed repertory of timeless classics and contemporary works. Featured will be George Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht, staged by Stacey Calvert, as well as three new works. "Suite of Old American Dances," by American composer Robert Russell Bennett,  will be turned into a new choreographic work by Heather Stokes. Conductor Cormac Cannon will lead the USC Symphonic Winds in this piece. We’ll also feature a new world premiere by associate professor Thaddeus Davis, recipient of the Choo San Gho choreographic award, as well as a tribute to Martha Graham by visiting guest artist Miriam Barbosa.
 

Student Choreography Showcase

USC Dance Company Spring Contemporary Concert

Thought-provoking and boundary-pushing dance comes to the forefront as the USC Dance Company presents a repertory of brand new contemporary choreography. On tap are works by associate professors Thaddeus Davis and Tanya Wideman-Davis, as well as new choreography by USC dance instructors Olivia Waldrop and Stephanie Wilkins.

Bernstein MASS

USC Dance is proud to be part of the USC School of Music’s largest event, a production of Leonard Bernstein’s monumental MASS, performed in commemoration of the legendary composer’s centenary. The epic stage production includes two orchestras, a rock band, a blues band, several choirs, singers, dancers and actors.

13th Annual Ballet Stars of New York Gala Performance

Columbia’s premiere ballet event enters its thirteenth year! Under the direction of Stacey Calvert, principal dancers from the New York City Ballet will perform an evening of world-class ballet in concert with the USC Dance Company. A gala afterparty will follow as a fundraiser for the dance program (separate ticket required).
