Young Artist's Workshop

Our Young Artist's Workshop is not only a wonderful resource for the Midlands community, but an excellent place for USC Art Education students to put what they've learned into practice by teaching and inspiring the next generation of artists.

What is the Young Artist's Workshop?

The Young Artist's Workshop (YAW) is an enrichment program that teaches the production, evaluation, and appreciation of art to local youth. All classes are taught by USC Art Education students and align with South Carolina Visual and Performing Arts Standards. Classes are offered for children ages 5 - 13 years. They are designed to meet the needs of students in public, private, and home school environments.

Spring 2024

Young Artist's Workshop will be held on Friday afternoons from February 16 through March 29. We will not meet on March 8 due to USC's Spring Break. Please see the downloadable Spring 2024 application below for more details about YAW.

How do I register my child?

Applications must be printed, completed, and signed by the parent or guardian, and turned in or sent to the YAW Coordinator at the School of Visual Art and Design. The cost is $100 per student or $90 per student for children of USC faculty, staff, or students. To receive the discounted rate, please provide a photocopy of your USC identification card at the time of payment. The online payment link is listed in the application.
