Each year, the College of Information and Communications invites alumni back for its annual Homecoming party. Graduates gather to celebrate Gamecock football and reconnect while enjoying great food and Columbia's cool fall weather.
The college’s Homecoming gathering had a new location and a slightly new name for 2015. Gamecocks on Greene—in past years, Gamecocks on the Green—signals that both SLIS and SJMC are now along Greene Street in the heart of campus. The student plaza on the Sumter Street side of the new School of Journalism and Mass Communications overlooked the Homecoming parade route. The parade, unfortunately, was cancelled as a consequence of Columbia’s severe flooding a week earlier. But alumni, faculty, friends and Cocky paraded to our new site to reminisce and celebrate.
