PI for $1.2-million EPSCoR/NSF RII C2 grant: “Last Mile Broadband Access and Collaborative
Classrooms for SC Education and Research.” 2010-2013.
Co-PI for cyberinfrastructure, $20-million EPSCoR/NSF grant (5-year): “South Carolina Project for Organ Biofabrication.” 2009-2014.
Health Sciences South Carolina, CIO Council, 2003-present. Co-leader of effort to secure funding and legislation to develop South Carolina LightRail (high-speed, high-capacity research network).
As a former information technology executive and now clinical professor, I draw heavily
on many years of IT leadership to bring real-world experience to the classroom - with
an emphasis on discussion, analysis and substantial student engagement.
My IT service has included time with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of SC, USC, Vanderbilt, University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and UW System, and MIT.
