Internship/Job Searching - Activate your Handshake!
Starting this week, we will direct all employers to upload opportunities for students to view on Handshake. If you have not done so, now is the time to activate your account, upload your resume and build your profile. Handshake will be the central location to find internships and job opportunities going forward.

Focus Group Opportunity
Vanessa Kitzie is looking for undergraduate students to talk about times they have felt respected and disrespected at libraries. You will discuss these experiences in focus groups of 8-12 people.

The dates are Monday, February 26 and Friday, March 2. The focus groups will last 90 minutes. You will be compensated with a $25 gift card for your time. No identifying information about you will be used while reporting the findings from this research. Findings from this research will be used to develop guidelines for how libraries can make individuals feel respected when they use the library.

If you are a University of South Carolina student who uses or has used libraries and felt respected and disrespected at them, please fill out this questionnaire. Based on your responses, the research team will be in touch to set up a focus group interview at a time and place convenient to you.

McNair Scholars Program
The TRIO McNair Program helps eligible undergraduates pursue graduate degrees. The program offers expanded faculty mentoring, research experience and other academic opportunities with the goal of increasing the number of Ph.D. recipients who are first-generation or low-income students, and who are from underrepresented groups in graduate education.

Central Carolina Community Foundation Scholarship Opportunities
Are you a high school or college student looking for financial assistance for your education? Thanks to our generous donors, the Community Foundation oversees more than 40 scholarship funds to help talented and passionate students attain the dream of a college education.
